This event will review activity related to Voluntary Sector involvement in health service planning over the past three years, and examine options for the way ahead.

It is now three years since the Voluntary Sector in Fife took the decision to establish three Voluntary Sector Health & Wellbeing Forums in Fife. These Forums mirrored the geographical areas of the newly-formed Community Health Partnerships (CHPs), and a representative was elected from each Forum to sit on the CHP. As well as supporting the Voluntary Sector Representatives on the CHP, the Forums have been involved in a range of other activity, including the consultation on the Joint Health Improvement Plan (JHIP).

Following meetings with the Voluntary Sector Representatives on the CHPs and the Chairs of the Voluntary Sector Forums, we are seeking a wider meeting with Voluntary Sector organisations involved in health & wellbeing activity to discuss alternative proposals around the organisation of Voluntary Sector Forums. Some activity is already underway in relation to the development of thematic groupings, so we will consider this activity in relation to our possible direction of travel.

As well as discussing Voluntary Sector engagement in service planning, we will also have input from Vivienne Brown, Health Improvement Adviser, on the JHIP and Lynsay Anderson, the Keep Well Co-ordinator for Fife, will update us on the progress of this initiative.
